Yes, you read it right the first time. You can download your favourite movies, shows, series and documentaries on ShowMax onto your device for free. This is the main reason why I am writing this article; to show you how to download Showmax Movies easily and free.

How to Download ShowMax Movies for Free
- Login to you Showmax account
- Navigate to the movie you would want to download
- Click on “Download” or the Download Icon (Depending on the device you are using)
- Voila! Your favorite movie have been added to the download manager.
The Download Manager has 3 tabs: On this device, On Other Devices and Others. This is what each tab represents:
- “On This Device”– All content you downloaded on this device will appear in this tab.
- “On Other Devices”– All content you downloaded to other devices will appear in this tab.
- “Others”– All content downloaded by other users on this device will appear in this tab.

How Long Will Downloaded Content Remain on Your Device?
You can now watch the downloaded movie for free within the next 48hours on any of the device linked to your account. After 48hrs, the movie will disappear from the download list.
On Which Devices Are Downloads Available?
ShowMax content can only be downloaded on compatible iOS devices, Android phones and tablets that support Widevine Classic or Widevine Modular DRM. You are required to make sure you have the latest version of the Showmax app installed on your device.
How Many Times Can You Watch The Downloaded Content?
You can watch the downloaded content unlimited number of times within the allocated 48 hours window. The 48 hours starts counting from the first playback of the downloaded content until it elapses.

What is the Content Download Limit?
On Showmax, you are only allowed to download 25 completed downloads per account. The good things is that this is slot based. This means that if you exhaust your 25 complete downloads, you can delete some of the downloaded content to make space for new downloads. Isn’t this pretty awesome?
Can Showmax App for iOS and Android Be Used Without Internet?
Of course! You will be directed straight into the Download Manage when you open the Showmax App on your device without internet enabled.
This means that you can watch all your downloaded content without the need of the internet. To go online again when your connection is restored, select the menu icon and select retry.

Kindly note that after installing the ShowMax app on your device, all you downloaded content will also be deleted alongside.
